Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Baking is one of my favorite hobby, and with the holiday season, baking is all in the air. The little man all geared for holidays is helping me mould those beautiful Christmas cookies. Though I baked a few of them, something I absolutely loved is this fudgey and gooey Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.

This Cookies, is rich in chocolate and the shape and appearance is like a dream to me. Anytime I lay them on the baking sheet before baking, I simply have this feeling these are my precious snowballs going into the oven. And the heat make random cracks to make sure to let the brown visible and that’s what I call, ‘It’s like a dream!!’.

Here goes my  recipe:

Ingredients for Chocolate Crinkle Cookies:

• Unsweetened Cocoa – 1 cup
• All Purpose Flour – 2 cups
• Granulated Sugar – 1 cup
• Light or dark brown sugar – 1 cup
• Vanilla Extract – 2 tsp
• Large Eggs – 4
• Baking Powder – 2 tsp
• Salt – 1 tsp
• Canola Oil – 1/2 cup
• Confectionary or Powdered Sugar – 1/2 cup

Steps of Preparation:

• Mix all the dry ingredients.
• In an electric stand mixer or by hand mixer, first mix the wet ingredients like oil, sugar, vanilla extract and egg.
• After the wet ingredients are mixed properly, add the dry ingredients slowly until everything is mixed properly.
• This mixture is slightly gooey, needs to be refrigerated for minimum 2 hrs.
• In the mean time, pre heat the oven at 350 F for about 20-30 mins.
• Lay the parchment paper in the baking sheet. scoop a small ball of the dough, roll in the hands to roughly bring it to a ball shape.
• Then roll the ball in the confectionary sugar, to give a generous coating of the sugar to the chocolate dough.
• Place the balls in a difference of 2 inch.

• Bake the cookies for about 12-13 mins, until the edges are firm.
• The cookie should be cooled in the baking sheet for 20 mins before removing them to the cooling rack.
