God knows what not we need to keep adding to the checklist to be safe in Summer. Summer in Bangalore these days are terrible. I can’t imagine a greener city of Bangalore has hosted so many concrete plans that the mercury is rising like anything.
More than solid and spicy food; cold and comforting drinks are soothing the summer moments. Early morning is so sunny that small bowl of cereals is no more a healthy or comforting option. Nutrients, hunger and comfort were playing a puzzle on my mind, when my eyes got struck to the apple in the fridge.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away !! But if the doctor is handsome throw it away !!
Huh !! No option to take a glance at the doc when your husband is on the way !!
All these mischiefs and fun lead to the amazing discovery of Crunchy Apple Smoothie. Eureka !!

The Crunchy Apple Recipe goes like this:
N.B. : The quantity serves 2.
Ingredients:
- Apple – 1 whole
- Cold milk – 2 cups
- Corn flakes/meusli – 3-4 tbs
- Cashew nuts – 7-8 whole
- Sugar – According to the taste (preferably 2 tbsp)
- Ice cubes – 2-3
Steps of Preparation:
- Peel off the apple and cut into medium sized cubes.
- In the juicer grind the apple, cold milk, cashew nuts, sugar and ice-cubes till it’s mixed properly into a thick smoothie.
- Serve the smoothie topping it with the corn flakes.
The corn flakes/meusli will give the crunchiness and would make you summer morning delightful.
Chef’s Tip: As soon as you cut the apple, grind it and serve it. Exposing in the air gets apple oxidized which is an unhealthy option to consume.
