It’s Ram Navami in India, a very happy and auspicious day to all of you. Last year, I was with Mom and Dad as Baby Darsheel was just a newborn and we had this lovely platter all Mom cooked. Miss those lovely Mom cooked foods and those amazing days of pampering. Wish I can go back soon to India to enjoy all of these.
In the platter:
Garam Arua Bhata (hot and steamy raw rice, we had Basmati rice in the platter), Pansa Katha Dalma (a special Odia delicacy made of lentils and veggies cooked together and this had raw Jackfruit), Saga Bhaja (greens stir fry), Amba Khatta (sweet and sour raw mango chutney), Baigani (fried spiced Gram flour coated Eggplant) served with a slice of ripe Mango and usual accompaniment of an Odia Thali lime, green chili and salt.
All dishes were cooked with Desi ghee without a hint of Onion and Garlic. Wish I could spread the aroma it had through my blog. Hope the pictures would do the justice.
